Hi. I'm Rose-Marie and I was very stupidly invited to contribute to this blog, interestingly entitled What's Wrong With This World? Well, there is a lot of things wrong with this world. And when it comes to politics, the majority of politicians are old white men. Now, you might be wondering, what does this teenage girl know about politics? Absolutely nothing. Which shows that I  have a lot more in common with most politicians than you think.

Had I known, growing up, that the society I live in was so oppressed for so many people, I probably would've been nicer to certain people as a child. Although, as I got older, I did start to notice certain tendencies. For example, I may or may not have flipped a guy out of a chair once. Needless to say, I got in trouble for that. This guy once flipped another guy out of the chair, the teacher told him to stop that, because it was dangerous. When I complained to the teacher about it, I was treated with the line, Boy will be boys. I am 100% certain that boys will be boys. But being boys doesn't mean doing stupidities and getting off the hook for it. It means being a boy. Physically. There shouldn't be a different treatment because of your gender, right? Imagine if the world said things the way they are actually intended.  Hello, you have a male reproductive system! No murder accusations for you! I'd hate to be that person, but this isn't Oprah, people don't just get cars and get out of jail free cards.

I wish somebody had explained this heterosexual patriarchy that we live in at a younger age. I started to understand it more when I got older and the guys at my school would look at something and say Woah dude that's so gay.

I took this test once to evaluate my English reading level. The test score gave me that of a Secondary 5 student. Do you want to know why? Because I don't use gay to designate ridiculous. There have been many times that I've offered to buy people a thesaurus for Christmas, to expand their vocabulary. All these words in the English language, and you choose gay?

I've met my fair share of homophobic misogynistic men. Although they aren't very good at their jobs, because every time I ask them why they're homophobic, misogynistic men, they give me weak answers, for example, the bible says it's a sin. Maybe, but you know what else is considered an even bigger sin? Divorce. Go tell that to your ex-wife.

As for a reason as to why women are not their equals, they tell me that women are useless in society. Is that so? I don't seem to recall your father giving birth to you, though.

But women aren't just here to have your children. We're so useless? Don't marry us. Have your own children.  We're out.


I am actually scared that I will be dead before straight white boys don't automatically think they're entitled to everything. I'm afraid men in general will forever think they are entitled to everything.
